Clubnotes 31st January 2017   27/03/2017

Well done to the almost 50 boys representing the U14, U15 and U16 boys teams that ran the Raheny Mile on Sunday. It was great to see so many focus on the G Athelic A part for one day, especially as weather conditions were not the best. Great camaraderie between the boys and good community support.

Membership fees are now due. It’s the last day in January and nobody wants to be still collecting fees or reading about unpaid fees at the end of the year. Last year we went to considerable lengths to show members and mentors the realities of membership fees and where they go as well as the shortfall which has to be made up from other fundraising activities. Renewal forms are 1) attached here 2) available to download from the Downloads and Membership pages on the website 3) available from the registrar or 4) from your team mentor. Return the form with the cash/cheque/payment plan to Registrar Ingrid Kelly as soon as possible. If things are tight then you can come to an arrangement to spread the payments out. Mentors are encouraged to ensure that their players pay up on time or use a payment plan.

Well done to Josh Rooney and Jason Byrne who were on the winning side in Sunday’s Leinster Post-Primary 'A' hurling championship match. They now play away to Kilkenny CBS in the Leinster 1/4 Final on Saturday, 4th of February.

Music on Saturday night is by Orion, named hopefully for their stellar musical prowess and not for a resemblance to a bland 1980’s Ford.

The Dublin Senior Football Spring Series is back on Saturday 11th February with both All Ireland Senior title holders on display. Last year’s mighty Tipperary side take on the Dubs at 5pm while the Sam Maguire winners taking on a resurgent Tyrone team, fresh from Dr McKenna Cup victory, at 7pm. Two great pairings and at a great price. The ticket book is now open behind the bar in Áras Bharróg and will close on Sunday evening, the 5th February, so scurry down and get your name in the book.

Mini Leagues continue at 10am on Saturday mornings.

The club shop is open for business between 9:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday mornings.

There was no winner of last week's Lotto, numbers drawn were 3, 8, 18 & 20. This week's Jackpot will be €1,400.

The Naomh Barróg Golf Society is now open for members. Full members, mentors and adult players are all eligible. Contact Andy Cassidy, Joe Potter or Gary McCormack for details.

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the sudden passing of Dick ‘Dixie’ Flynn at his home on Sunday. The club sends it condolences to his wife Dolly, his daughter Anne and his family and extended family. Dixie was a great supporter of the club and indeed his son-in-law David (Pudser) and grandsons David, Darren and Dean are all current or former club players. Funeral arrangements are available here. Ár dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhílis.
